Overview

Bob Burnham is a Principal Research Software Engineer and Adjunct Professor of Business Administration at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is the instructor of VBA Programming which introduces students to the fundamentals of programming while teaching them how to extend the capabilities of spreadsheets.

Bob is a software developer working in principally in C, C++, Python, R, SAS, and Common Lisp. A significant part of his work involves developing web applications and building data sets by programatically extracting and organizing online data sources. Other areas of interest include machine learning, artificial intelligence, simulation, optimization, and statistical analysis.

Bob developed the Sensitivity Toolkit with Ken Baker and Steve Powell. The Toolkit is an Open Source add-in for Excel which brings powerful tools of sensitivity analysis to spreadsheet users.

Experience

Prior to Tuck, Bob was a Senior Software Engineer at Fidelity Investments. He has also worked for Abt Associates, the US Agency for International Development and the US Department of State. He holds degrees from Bates College and Boston University.
